Not long now until the GCSE food technology exam. One of the key things I do every year in preparation for the exam is to give my year 11 classes a mock exam on the preliminary material. This year the topic is “High protein main meals from a variety of cultures”.
So I have made up a mock question and I have also compiled a marking scheme ( some parts are taken from some AQA past marking schemes).
On Tuesday, after the bank holiday rest, I will give my students 35 minutes to answer the question. When they have completed it I will ask them to self -assess their papers using a different coloured pen with the marking scheme and then I will take it in and mark it.
Each pupil will be given individual feedback on their performance and for some it may give them confidence that their revision is going well and for others it may shock them into preparing further for the exam.
If you are a regular reader you will now that all the resources that I am preparing for the preliminary materials are available if you are willing to donate to the charity Magic Breakfast for a small donation.
For this resource, I am requesting £ 2 in the hope of bringing the final amount raised for Magic Breakfast up to £300.
So if you would like a copy please donate at my just giving account and email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will email the files directly to you. The files are a word document.
If you have already donated £10 or over and would like a copy of the paper and marking scheme I will email it to you free of charge upon request.
Once again, thank you to all of who you have supported my fundraising mission so far. It will end on the day of the food GCSE exam.
